The neck pickup is glorious. Its the opening of "ramhle on" in pickup form. The bridge pup is more bassy and agressive than I am used to. I had to really alter the settings on my amp. I need more time with it..
I backed to backed it with my traditional with t top clones. The Les Paul is les agressive with a much tamer/softer attack. It sustains about the same but the 245 just sings better.more overtones and paf-y. Notes swell into beatiful sustained feedback if I work it. It plays great but the gibson is easier to play..less tension and bends are easier...but to be fair it's topwrapped and has a flatter radius.
I think the recent changes of bridge/tp, finish, nut, and pickups, really has made a signficant improvement over the older 250s and 245s.
I have a few days to decide if it's a keeper
