Intonation on a Tele??

Hi.
Does anyone know how this can occur? The only thing I did was changing to rollersaddles? (picture, A string). The intonation is 100 percent.

Re: Intonation on a Tele??

Where was the saddle before? Keep in mind that both height and length can effect intonation. This saddle might be taller/shorter than the previous saddle.

Re: Intonation on a Tele??

..I have tried with another A string, same occurs. The older saddle were more like in "normal" place, like the B saddle...

Re: Intonation on a Tele??

it could very well be the string, but again i say if it plays in tune up the neck then i wouldnt worry about it. when you change strings check it again

Intonation on a Tele??

The same thing has happened to me on a few guitars, though with regular saddles, and the D and G, not the A. It's weird...but if it works, then hey.

Yeah, I'm with the bad string guys. Expect to have to readjust it once you make your way through your current batch of strings.

Re: Intonation on a Tele??

I'm confused about why you'd want to put roller saddles on a hard-tail instrument like a regular Telecaster

The strings can get hung up just by performing string bends, afaik, although it's surely a lot more effective to have a roller nut in that case, since there's more string to be stretched over the head stock than there is between the bridge and the end of the strings.

Re: Intonation on a Tele??

the thing should be in between the position of where the E and D saddles are, did the action match the fretboard radius, and the neck has a correct angle? (from 0 to 5° angle) those things can easily mess the intonation

There's not a lot of room on a Tele for the string to hang up. I've played hundreds of Teles in my time with all sorts of Tele type bridges and I've never had issues where the strings hang at the bridge.

Regardless, I'm concerned with how far out that one string is.

OP, what strings and gauges are you using here?

I have Ernie Ball Cobalts on the red one and my usual D'Addarios on the Sonic Blue one, both standard 10-46. These intonate just fine with their Fender '52 RI saddles.

Re: Intonation on a Tele??

...now it's solwed! You guys who told me to change strings was right.
I had michmatched a complete stringsetup, so I changed all to new ones (09-42) from the same manufacturer, and voila'...all is now as it should be.
Thank you all!
