Intonation tuners

What tuner is everyone using to set intonation with?

I know the Peterson strobe tuners are highly regarded, but I could never jive with the lack of either a digital needle or some kind of sharp/flat readout. The way it spins was always confusing to me.

I’m looking for something that tracks fairly fast and is accurate.

Maybe the Boss Tu-2?

What are we using?

Re: Intonation tuners

For intonation I think it's worth going a bit higher precision than the TU-2. It has 3 cent and most tuners of the current generation have 1 cent. I'm partial to Korg, but a TU-3 Is also great.

Any particular Korg? The pitch black series?

Re: Intonation tuners

You know what....now that I think of it I have a Korg DT-10 on my small board....I’ll have to dig it out.

Re: Intonation tuners

I use a Korg Pitchblack Portable. I’ve also got a strobostomp now, but you don’t like strobes.

I think my issue is that I never figured out how to properly use a strobe.
Years ago I had a Peterson, but just couldn’t figure it out.

Re: Intonation tuners

That looks like a nice tuner.
Will it detect an electric guitar that’s not plugged in, though? Or do you need to have it plugged in to the amp?

Mine does, but it probably has more to do with the phone in that case.

Re: Intonation tuners

I pulled the DT-10 off of the small board and used it to intonate one of my guitars yesterday afternoon.
It worked great.
Fast tracking and very accurate.
