Invader VS Distortion please help

im building my first guitar and already decided to put a pearly gates at the bridge, but for the neck i cant choose between the invader and the dist.
i like the dist. because its got all i "need" and it comes in white (the color of my guitar) but the invader has all i need and all i want but its ugly

i know i sound very vain, but i really want my guitar to look as good as it will sound

could i buy gold covers for both or am i stuck with what they look like?

i dont think gold covers are available for either. you can get white invaders too though, ill try to find a pic

I'm with you, the Invader looks ugly, especially in white. The Distortion is my favorite pickup and I love it at the neck. It's interesting that you're thinking of puttng a higher output pickup at the neck. I'll be interested to hear how you like it when it's finished.

Seems kind of silly to forgo better sound for something most people don't even notice (pickups), but if you're not happy with it...

I'm pretty sure that when sound comes out of your cab, you ain't looking at your pickups. You enjoy your sound much more than the look of your pickup. So just choose which model suites your music desires.

I have the white invader, and it's very manly. It's a great pickup if you can tame it.(Like me)

Invaders are definitely one of my favorite Duncan pickups. Totally full range response, huge output, how could you NOT love them? LOL
