Anybody knows what tubes Tommi Iommi used on Eternal Idol and Sabbath reunion? or anything that doest that "trick"? Thanks.
I understand your point butDr.Mavashi said:I kinda care what greats are using, its like if you paint and don't care what Dali used you sort of limit your knowledge ... I believe ...

- There are sooo many aspects to the signal chain that have a bigger impact than tubes. For example, Iommi's treble boost pedal back in the day likely had a greater impact on his timbre than his pickups, cables, or tubes.
- A lot of one's distinctive timbre comes from picking mechanics and left hand technique that even with a cloned rig you'll only get so close. Given the variation in individual technique, chances are that you'd get closer to your benchmark tone with a degree of deviation from the rig one's role model used.
At least that's my opinion. YMMV.

Hmmm. I don't like to play the gear name dropping card but...Dr.Mavashi said:My amp actually extremely preamp responsive, because it is a cascading preamp. So in my case tubes play a role, huge one.
