No, just about the entire Marshall guitarist universe. What planet are you from lol. Marshalls have never been known for real decent cleans lol. Marshalls are distortion amps plain and simple. Want cleans?, get a Fender or a Roland Jazz Chorus.

Marshall has changed that trend though buddy to keep from pigeon holeing their products to just distortion...Every company out there today is making and copying Marshall's tones...Some of Marshalls clean tones are very good on recent amps...Sure beats having to use 2 amps for 2 different tones..

You're right though buddy...Marshalls absolutely rock! Nothing quite does that "thing" that the Marshall does..It's my favorite amp for gettin the crunch...

Hmmm alot of those Plexi's and JMP's I have tried had glorious clean sounds.
And sounds awesome with a good overdrive.

I agree Rid...Marshall lost the clean tone back then when they went to master volume preamps....My 73 50 watt Marshall 4 input head can go from Plexi style distortion to clean just by rolling back my guitar volume...If I need more,I just stick a pedal or more pedals in the front of the amp...The sound is pretty expansive and doesn't even need reverb...

Hey John, have you played a plexi reissue by chance?? I've been really wanting to pick one up but haven't been able to play through one. If so, how does it compare to yours?? I'm really into the volume knob thing on my guitar now....(if I had learned that years ago!!).

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi Kevin...
Naturally my own amp is very tweaked! Go figure? LOL....
I did play through the reissue and I Liked it....People say the output transformers and tubes are the weak link, but I'm not so sure I agree? You'll more than likely want an attenuator and the use of pedals to get the amp to breathe and do the loud Marshall thing...I Liked the reissue.Maybe others will chime in also..I think Kevlar has one also?

Cool, thanks. I think I've heard Kevlar's clips and they sound great!! Of course I have your DS-1 and SD-1 I could pump through that baby as well!!
