Re: Is it harmful to lay a guitar down horizontal without neck support?
Fender type necks that are straight would be no problem. Other tilt back headstock axes that are thin I imagine might suffer a bit but only after a prolonged stay in that position. So if you're just laying the thing down for a bit to grab a bite or a beer I wouldn't worry.
Re: Is it harmful to lay a guitar down horizontal without neck support?
ive never given a **** in the 10 years of guitar that i have under my belt. no damage to any (gibson, epiphone, squier, fender, gretsch, LTD, Ibanez) guitar here.
Re: Is it harmful to lay a guitar down horizontal without neck support?
It won't hurt anything to lay a guitar down, but I just glued a broken headstock on a vintage Gibson acoustic. The guy laid it down on the sofa, and his drunk daughter and boyfriend came home.....the drunk boyfriend sat right on the neck.
Any dumbass that doesn't care enough about and not have that much respect for their guitar deserves for it to get tripped over, stepped on, and broken.
