Is Musicians Friend in CDN $$$ or something?

I hope to god it is, because if it isnt you guys get ripped hardcore in the US from that site. the first amp I ever bought was a Marshall MG30dfx, and I paid $285 CDN new for it....which would be like 220-230 us or something (And that was from a local shop, where apparently prices are high). On musicians friend they want like 249.99 US for the bloody thing.
I have noticed a couple other cases where it would be far cheaper for me to just go buy it from the shop downtown. And isnt stuff supposed to be less $$$ in the US?

Yeah if I do have to get something online i NEVER get it from that site. The prices are too high. They claim it's a deal when its nothing of the kind and cheap gear advertised on there is just that... cheap. Not good and cheap, just cheap.

most things in musicians friend are priced at map (minimum advertised price) and are overall good deals, usually around 70% of list or so. 20 years ago people paid list alot of the time!!! some still do in smaller shops. prices on most stuff go up every year, sometimes a couple times. i can remember the mg30dfx being $229

Interesting. MF seems to be comparable to other catalog companies in my experience. I still prefer Sweetwater, but AMS and MF sometimes have products that they don't carry.

Panzer, did you compare US domestic products with your local prices? Marshals ARE imported, and there may be some import tariff issue.
