Is this a real Seymour Duncan?

Wow. This is pretty blatant. No actual mention of Seymour Duncan, but check out the base plate.

So strange. There's no Duncan Hofner Staple pickup right not even from the custom shop? I guess it's still trying to trick someone but this is like counterfeiting 12 cent coins. They're obviously fake to anyone with a hint of sense and not very useful either.

Hi all,

I am new here.

In 2020 I bought this "Fender Stratocaster Body Loaded With seymour duncan SSL-1 pickups"

I tried to verify the pickups but I could not confirm anything.

DCR is:

Neck 6.13kOhms
Middle 5.83kOhms
Bridge 6.13kOhms

Neck and bridge could match the Alnico 2 Pro...

• SSL-1 are supposed to be 6.5 all around.
• Not sure if they are supposed to be the same at different position, but the middle one definitely sounds different.
• No label, but Bridge and Neck are marked "CR" what could that be? I found that if a label was stating "R", it would mean it was wound by "Connie Rocha" so I thought maybe...
• Pots are definitely SD parts

I think you are on the wrong scent. I think i can recall that these are Fender pickups for the Custom Shop Robert Cray Model, so the CR. There 2 different sets, one for the MIM Model with white numbers on it and one for the Custom Shop Model. Just try and post it at the Strat Forum, maybe someone can confirm.

Hi everybody,
First post from a new member here, so please excuse if I'm missing any forum etiquette.
I recently bought a pretty scruffy looking parts Jazz Bass, that I'm dissecting to figure out what I actually have.
There's a thread over on Talkbass with the findings.

It would seem all mysteries have been solved, but there haven't been any comments on the pickups yet.
I'm guessing Duncan Antiquities, but don't know if they're I or II, or what age. The serial doesn't look like any other pictures I've seen, with all the leading zeroes. I'm also not sure about the purple-ish black wire.

So I'm hoping for your help with this last piece of the puzzle. Many thanks in advance and greetings from Copenhagen!

Hmmm, seems there's an error no matter how I try to upload an image. The pickups can be seen in the linked Talkbass post, but I've got some that are much better, if someone could guide me through getting the upload to work. Sorry if I'm too noob.

the wire is plain enamel. i assume those are antiqutiy I jazz bass pups.
