It has taken a while, but here's my new guitar :D

Re: It has taken a while, but here's my new guitar :D

really nice!

I'm not up on Grosh's used prices, but that actually looks like a pretty good deal, and certainly should retain its value.

I have a friend who custom ordered a tele from Don ... it was Lake Placid Blue with a hum bridge and single neck, a tummy contour, and top binding ... very nice ax!

but, you got an ax that definitely sets you apart from the pack :)

----------------------
as far as the trem issue, I'd agree with Rid and Joneser - double check your set up heights, etc ... I've noticed that at certain points, the springs have a "sympathetic" vibration that can be solved with a turn of the screws ... but as usual, make your adjustments incrementally

I'm a little surprised you're swapping pickups so soon after getting it, but on the other hand, I can think of a few SDs that would sound great in that ax! ;)

enjoy!

Thanks again guys for the replies!

The stock Dimarzio pickups work well. They provide solid single coil tones while keeping the noise low. The bridge pickup wasn't quite trebly enough for my liking, but it did work pretty good.

The sets I ordered from Wagner Custom Rewinds are the SR neck and middle and the Dark Burst bridge. If you're interested at all in these pickups, check out the reviews at Harmony-Central.

I think I'll try adjusting the trem to see if I can get that tone to go away. I will be getting Graph Tech saddles so that should help, but the sound may still be coming from those springs. This is my first time with a trem, so hopefully I won't screw up anything too bad.
