a custom order (white) jcm 800 on top of the 35th anniversary cab. the cab is loaded with english made greenbacks.

all of the amps have their pluses so i can't say which one i like the most.

the 1987 has the amazing high treble channel. like i said here before, it makes the other amps sound dull. the amp clips easily for good hard/classic rock jamming.

the 1959RR is the big brother to the 1987 but has the randy mod (cascaded preamp). some of the nicest lead tones i've ever heard came from this amp. i had to use a clean boost pedal for the searing lead tones.

the jcm 800 is a beast. it has all of the gain i need. it seems to sound its best with the preamp at 10. my first marshall was a white 20th anniversary jcm 800 2204. i'm glad this is a better replacement. it even has the signature, just like my old one. they look the same.

WOW! I love Marshalls... and those are simply making me drool and want to go retube my 2204!!!

Suh-Weet! :bigok:

I love White amps! (I've got a white Splawn myself) I especially love the RR, I'd love to have one.

Oh hell yeah! How come we never knew about this before?:bigeyes:

I expected to see someone's new white Class 5 combo, and then surprise.....big boy amps!

What's the story on the JCM800? You're saying it's brand new?

i'm really lazy with taking photos and then posting/printing them. yeah its just a couple of months old. i just asked for a white 2203x. it cost a little extra, ~$160 or so.

Veddy nice! I can't say I'm gasing for a new amp, but if I had unlimited funds, all of your amps would be prime suspects, along with a Carol-Ann Triptik. In purple.

Re: it's a nice day for a white marshall

Hey little sister shotgun! I can't decide what I need more, a high gain amp or a hot rodded Marshall, although for some, hot rod Marshall is as high gain as they want to get ( like splawn amps). Guess I'll start there.

Re: it's a nice day for a white marshall

Given the choice, I'd be on the RR like white on Marshall......but that's just because. But all 3 are great. Which heavy rock gain tone do you prefer....the RR or the 800?

I like how all three are staple Marshall tones, and all three have a different color logo.

it would look great in this room:

Awesome! I love white amps and cabs to the point that I recovered my Cornford amp/ Orange cab in the same vintage white tolex as your 1987. I had a 1987 in white and shouldn't have sold it. Yours look the dogs danglies, very impressive.

the RR has two personalities. at practice and rehearsal volumes it has a bit of crunch to it. but when i dialed in randy's settings with the volume at 6, it sounds alot like his tone.

so essentially, the RR is not usable up to its full potential unless you're a touring rock star. the power tubes are still stock so i'm hoping that a quad of mullards will give it more juice at low volumes.

for that reason i prefer the jcm 800. the 800 is so fun to practice with because you can get some decent gain at low volumes. if i could jam at 6 volume i'd probably prefer the RR. who knows?

Re: it's a nice day for a white marshall

I love white Marshalls too. I think a white tolex JCM800 type head cab with the black grill cloth center section looks most awesome.

Re: it's a nice day for a white marshall

Beautiful! :32:

I love classic Marshalls and those look great in white. I would love to add a 1987 to my little collection.

Re: it's a nice day for a white marshall

Those amps look awesome, great collection!

I have a SLO clone in white myself.

When I was looking into new amps about 3 or 4 years ago I went to see and try 1 of those RR amps. It sounded great, but it was stupidly loud and I just couldn't get it to work for me at useable volume levels. Really nice amp though!

Re: it's a nice day for a white marshall

1987 has always been my fave Marshall amp. I would love to have another one, white will do ;)

Nice collection. Congrats.
