My first non-combo amp.
1982 Marshall JCM 800, 2204 50watts
& Avatar closed cab, w/ hellatone 30 & 60

Sounds great cranked up! next stop attenuator and something to boost the drive, suggestions welcomed. Two bands I really like tonewise are Foo Fighters and Thrice.

the cab and head don't match exactly how I pictured, but I may change the grill cloth or do something to make the cab look more aged looking.

To about 5 or 6, which prob isn't even the "sweet spot". tomorrow i'm going to local music shops to checkout the limited amount of pedals they have. I really think i'm looking for an attenuator and a distortion or overdrive pedal although i'm not sure which. Eventually I want to try out a ton and buy some quality stuff.

Re: It's here!

If you gonna attenuate it alot, stay away from JJ E34Ls, they hate attenuators, I've learned it the hard way. But as far as price/quality, MassLite is hard to beat.

Sorry, what are JJ E34l's? I currently have Groove Tube GT-EL34's, so do attenuter's hate the Groove tubes too? Yah, the weber seems like the way to go. Thanks for the input.

Re: It's here!

JJ E34Ls are the power tubes that I got for my AOR which is arguebly a heavily moded 800 circuit. It was awesome with previous tubes while with masslite on, cooling things down, now it does not shine unless MV is on 12 o'clock and no masslite. Have not tried GTs yet. Allthough I do hear that some of GTs are rebranded JJs.
