I've gone to the darkside again... new Gibson

Re: I've gone to the darkside again... new Gibson

Explorers have always seemed such a sensible guitar choice to me, ever since seeing the guy from the (now sadly disbanded) Guano Apes playing one on the 'You Can't Stop Me' video. I could easily be tempted, especially in that finish...

That is a beautiful explorer, bro. Nice catch. :bigthumb:

JeffB, quit posting the pic of that Firebird. It gives me GAS. :yell: :blackeye:

Cant wait to check it out on thursday. Looks sweet, although I gotta admit, you're probably the last person I'd expect weilding an explorer! :) It makes it that much cooler.

The neck keeps its clarity under a lot of gain, so that is definitely staying as well.

I've never had a problem with a 496R. I actually like that pickup. I still have it in a few of my guitars.

The Explorer is a great rock/blues guitar, many people says it's a "metal" guitar, but it's not. I love mine!

explorers are great, im happy as hell with mine.

i put a JB in the bridge cause the 500T seemed kinda muddy to me, but i really like the stock neck pickup for leads and stuff, real smooth and buttery sounding. not the greatest cleans ever, but i love it with some distortion.
