It´s a signature model, so it´s gonna be EXACTLY where Christian Olde Wolbers (Not Wobbler, no idea where you got that, you as a dutchman should be more sensitive to dutch names :D:D:D..) wants it

I personally have no problems with it there you get used to it, and it´s much easier for volume swells and such ;)

And, I´ve said it before, I´ll say it again (Although nobody ever seems to read it judging by the quotes we constantly see, so I´m really starting to not care anymore anyway, why should I type this 5x a week if nobody gives a ****....): ANYONE that looks at large online retailers for J/C prices is shafting themselves... Music 123, MF, ZZounds, AMS...all horrendously overpriced

www.mattsmusic.com
www.wildwestguitars.com
www.onlinestagegear.com

AAAAH ZERB! I am FRENCH! Not Dutch! I just live in Amsterdam :( And no shops there carry Jacksons. The only place where I found it (the 6 string black one) is Thomann online dealer and they sell for 588. I'll check those websites but if they ship from the US there'll be customs and VAT, Thomann's prices include the VAT and their shipping is less than 10 euros.
I don't even listen to Fear Factory haha! I just saw his name a few times and it stuck me as Wobbler... I'll try to remember... Woblers... Woblers... :newangel: And yeah I understand about the signature stuff, that's the beef I have with sig stuff: it's not MY guitar. But that one is just too cool.

Re: Jackson Christian Olde Wobbler signature.

Zerb by the way, do you really think that importing a COW from vwall to Holland will be cheaper than the 600 euros I'd pay for one at Thomann?
I can order it into a shop for 625 euros too... It seems like a decent price to me, aside from Thomann I haven't found a cheaper place yet.

Re: Jackson Christian Olde Wobbler signature.

The prices from Thomann on th COW and Bonds really surprised me when I saw them.... I think for the first time buying in Europe may actually be cheaper, most likely because the US guys also have to pay import tax on these as they´re MIJ, and I think Fender transports the imports directly to their destination (unlike J/C where they used to all go through the ontario Plant at some point, one plus to the FMIC buyout), meaning the US taxes aren´t on ours ;)

Re: Jackson Christian Olde Wobbler signature.

go for it dude!!!

:laugh2: I'm working on it thanks!
Haha my dad was pissed today. Ah well... I really want this. Anyhoo thanks for the advise everyone. If people have suggestions about other 24 frets hardtails similarly priced, I'm open :)

Re: Jackson Christian Olde Wobbler signature.

to my knowledge.. that's the only 1 pup, hardtail 24 fret 7 string guitar that has a VERY good price

Re: Jackson Christian Olde Wobbler signature.

Well the one pickup is not a requirememt. I also found a LTD MV200 for the same price (600 euros... that's 700 dollars... and yes I know they sold for 250 on musiciansfriend a while ago but eh, it's Europe :( ) which is also 24 frets, has a TOM and also a hotrails (Duncan Designed, as is the Humbucker) in the neck position.
The neck is bound and so is the body. It played ok and looked great. But the Jackson looks better and Mahogany + EMG 81 = smoothness and great tone usually (I tried an ESP explorer with those specs just to try, I guess it can't be THAT different...?)

Re: Jackson Christian Olde Wobbler signature.

while normally im an ESP guy, the wolbers sounds like a much better deal IMO

Re: Jackson Christian Olde Wobbler signature.

it's going to be a bit diferent.. the explorer was set neck right? this is bolt on and a bit smaller body to boot, so it's going to be a bit snappier/percussive and probably a bit more agressive/cutting .. just IMO of course

Re: Jackson Christian Olde Wobbler signature.

Nope weirdly enough it was a bolt on too. The neck was painted though. It was an ESP too, not an LTD. 2,500 euros for it, it's a no thank you. But those EMGs sounded very smooth. I played it through a Flextone to get the closest thing to my POD.

I haven't heard anything of Fear Factory, be it with Dino Casarez or COW, but this guitar looks AMAZING, for a very decent price. For the price of a DKMG, you get ebony board, reverse black headstock, all black body, EMG81 with its volume control and string through bridge. It looks absolutely amazing. I am seriously considering getting one of those and unsignify it (repace the truss rod cover)
That is the 7 string version:

I think it's got some very attractive bang for the buck. I wish I could play one but well... damn... it looks friggin' awesome. It's a bolt on but what the hell... Cool as ****.

Dude! this website is wrong with specS!

wait jackson usa guitars are made in the ontario plant?

Yes.

Well, at least since 1987.

Re: Jackson Christian Olde Wobbler signature.

I think that having a 7 string is a great thing....you could play anything! you could go from Cream to Korn is no time at all.....but I have no clue how you'd play drop d? just lower the e string and leave the b string alone?

Yes, that's how you'd do it.

7 string are used for a ton more than nu-metal, though. Jazz guitarists originally employed them for different chord voicings and extended runs, amongst other things. Now, John Petrucci, Steve Vai, and Rusty Cooley use them for the extended range it gives to their shredding. That's only one use though.

If you want to hear some real 7 string action, check out Nevermore. Probably my favorite metal band right now, and features some INSANE shredding and riffing on 7 strings. Check out anything after Dead Heart In A Dead World for the 7 string work. Great stuff.

Dude then check this out! http://www.music123.com/ESP-Viper-407-i158059.music Id think that you'll like it! I do!

Whilst I'm not a big fan of ESP's, I have considered that model. I don't like the 81/7 in the bridge, though, and the 25 1/2" scale.

The ones I'm looking at right now are:

and some discontinued ESP H model's on eBay.

Dude, I'd go with the C-7! Unless your a huge fan of Bolt-on necks, then you'd like the Damien-7.
