Dude, I'd go with the C-7! Unless your a huge fan of Bolt-on necks, then you'd like the Damien-7.

Well the main reasoning behind the Damien would be the cost and that it's pre-routed for EMG's. I don't mind the bolt-on neck that much, I've played them and they feel great. I dig the inlays, too.

Thats the only thing bad about EMGS.... you have to change everything. Thats why im getting a guitar with them in it

Actually, you only have to route for EMG's on 7 strings, as EMG skimped on making a new pickup housing and just used a 5 string bass bucker housing.

theyre talking about the actual size though, not just the new pots and everything you need for regular EMGs. 7-string EMGs are a different size than regular 7-string pickups, and require different routing

the wolbers sig looks much more classy than both the schechter and esp .. but that's just me i guess.

the cost is damn good too.. EMG, ebony fretboard, string through.. if i didnt have so much stuff flying around my ears, i'd buy it in an instant.. but i gotta save the $ for my project .. MWAHAHAHAAHAHA

If you want to hear some real 7 string action, check out Nevermore. Probably my favorite metal band right now, and features some INSANE shredding and riffing on 7 strings.

You know what, I think you convinced me even more. I was still hesitating between the Jackson and the LTD 400 (vipers and MH400NT) but I'll get much more satisfaction out of the Jackson.

The only problem is that my parents hate me for wanting another guitar so soon so I set myself a limit: as soon as I can play lead + Rythm of Crazy Train, I'll get the new guitar. *gets to work*

man.. chugging away on the B string is really kind of rewarding if you ask me hehe. set the 6 strings to dropD and the 7th to A .. sonic mayhem. being a hardtail is even better cos you can do alternate tunings without having the fuss of setting up a floating trem from 0 . sure, you could have a non floating on it, but to me a 7 string should be hardtail =)

and it's a string through too



oh.. and it's got a reverse headstock if a band member gives you any fuss.. just impale him on it hehe .. although the blood can get kind of messy

Aside from being an absolute guitar GOD, Jeff Loomis does have pretty big hands. It is a weird angle on that video, though. I'll get some pictures.

the schechter looks classy... but the jackson, to me looks better.. something about no inlays and a reverse pointy
(NP Nevermore - I, Voyager .. his solo in this one is just crazy looking at the fingers fly over the fretboard is just wow :headbang: )

You think a 4 monther at guitar could play Crazy Trrain? I know the chords and such but that chorus fill is harsh. Maybe I'll set myself an easier goal

as for crazy train and playing for 4 months.. practice practice practice.. then leave it alone for some time and go play somehting totaly diferent, till then you'll forget your aproach to the riffs and all and you'll have a clearer view on the song and view it from a diferent perspective. happened to me when i tried playing the main riff of Number of the Beast.. couldnt pull it off and when i left it for a month, then went back to it, i could play it with ease and wondered WTF was i doing before =P

sooo.. good luck again is what i say =) and have fun.. cos that's what guitar playing is ALL about. having fun

Ohhh I am having loads of fun. I love it. I'd get the guitar but I feel I don't deserve it, skill wise. My parents also hate me for that haha! I think I'll wait.

That means I could mod the Charvel sooner

Pierre, you've only been playing four months? I could've sworn you've been posting longer than that! Oh well.

The fills and solo are really all you should be having trouble with. Just take them slow and use a metrenome. For the most part, it's just pentatonic licks, so practice your pentatonic scale in the positions the song calls for, and it should make it a bit easier.

In the sweeping runs, I believe it's the 5th run, he hits a note a half step higher than the one he hits during the repeat. He kept it because he prefer's to keep first takes. Killer stuff.

I've had the guitar since February and I joined in April.
