Something else to remember about Jake is that his Strat style guitars do not usually have a vibrato. If I remember correctly, he used hardtail/string-through-body guitars for the most part.

That is correct.
I have never seen with any tremarm.

I agree wth Gearjoneser. Jake's style really spoke to me on "Bark At The Moon". It was just different. His solos were great, of course, but it was his chording and rhythms that drew me. Very cool stuff even to this day.
