Jazz tones

There was a guy who used to play a trombone solo at the weekly blues jam and it worked surprisingly well. His style was more Jazz and Dixieland but he really managed to make it work.

Not a chance. Ever in the same room with them? It isn't a pleasant sound. And they are always out-of-tune.
They're supposed to be "out of tune". I guess it's a genetic thing.

The bridal entrance of my wedding was accompanied by bagpipes. And my wife, who's of Norwegian descent, loved them.

I grew up around accordion music.
Accordion?
And, I take it, you've been in the same room as one of those.
I'll take the pipes.

i like the pipes! there was a guy who would go to the park every saturday and blow for an hour or so, id take a walk just to listen. not suggested for inside listening. i love the accordion too

Bagpipes are cool if they're played well, the same thing with accordions. Accordions are extremely versatile

I grew up with accordion, but don't like it. This band, KTU, made me re-think it. I suppose if bagpipes could be incorporated in different settings, I might feel differently about them.
