No he had it in mahogany guitars too. Plus his livewires are in mahogany now and while active they were modeled after the JB and Jazz.
I blame the:No offense, but his tone sucks nowadays. Sounds just like everybody else-- overprocessed.
Well, the overall sound is the sound engineer's responsibility.Always blameth the sound guy.
Just another data point for OP: I've had the exact same issue. JB + '59 in an LP. Bridge super fat but with an inescapable dentist drill overtone. Neck overpoweringly bassy.
I say get reed of heem. A2pro set looks very nice.
