Jerry Cantrell Gear?

What amps and other equiptment did Jerry Cantrell use with Alice in Chains? Sounds like Marshalls. Maybe a JCM 800 with a tube screamer in front? Anyone?

Bogner EL-34 Shiva. On some material he also used Fender Twins, Peavey 5150s and the rackmount Bogner Fish preamp.

Mostly its the Bogner fish preamp back in the day. He said all of degredation trip was the Shiva. he's also used 5150s, dual rec's and probably a marshall in there somewhere.

lots of good info above; you should consider what timeframe you are trying to match; AIC stuff that I like sounds like the jcm800 to me; for the stuff that I like of his is a little sludgy but notes are still pretty defined. plus I wont be ponying up $$ for the shiva

He has been known to use a few different G&L Rampage guitars and a few Les Pauls. Along with these, lately he has been playing a Dean Soltero. His main amp before was a Bogner Shiva, and he uses a lot of Mesas and Marshalls.

for Man in the box he used a Wah Wah into a talkbox.

G&L Rampage with Duncan JB into Bogner Shiva Into Marshall cabs. He used the Bogner Fish preamp when they went into the studio and didn't have a Shiva there. Sd he liked it. Started using a combination of both. Later on used 5150's.
