Jet City Amelia

Has anyone played one of these yet? I discovered it last night and the features look great. EL34, 50 watts, 2 channels with separate EQ settings for both channels. It will also run a pair of 6L6 tubes with no re-bias, for those that prefer a more American breakup. Master volume on each channel that is foot switchable...... it checks a lot of boxes for me. The effects loop is tube driven as well.

Also, the seller in the link below has some factory mods that sound really cool. The gain channel on the normal Amelia was said to have more drive and distortion than the previous JC50H, but the low gear mod to voice the amp for more classic rock is right up my ally. Combine that with the modified footswitch to control the OD mode (normally a front panel switch) and this thing sounds pretty versatile.

Below is a link to the model w/mods that I'm interested in. I just wonder how "British" or Marshally this might sound. The price is really right. I know, if you want a Marshall get a Marshall, but this looks like a cool budget friendly alternative.

Re: Jet City Amelia

I normally don't buy anything but Marshall. My first tube amp was a Hot Rod Deluxe. From then on it was classic Marshall. JCM 600 combo then a JCM 4212 (2205 in a combo) and now a DSL40c. I bought a Blues Jr. several years ago, but didn't keep it too long.

Anyhow, this amp intrigues me. I had my mind set on a Splawn Quick Rod 50....which I know is an entirely different dimension away from the Jet City, but I could have a brand new head and (2x12) cab for $899. That's half what just the Splawn head costs. I don't gig, so if this is a good Marshall clone, maybe it would serve all my needs.

My DSL40c is pretty good for my needs now, but I would like to have a cabinet for better lows and sound..... and a really good clean channel, which Amelia seems to have.

Looks cool except for the 1yr factory warranty. They'd probably have to raise the prices to do 3yrs though.
