Ok, how noisy are they on the MV amps with gain cranked?
And how would you compare them to SoZo mustards?
JJ's are large electrolytic filter caps. These are Totally different from small signal caps like a Sozo or older Phillips/Mullard Mustard cap. They do very different jobs in an amp and are not interchangeable.
JJ Electrolytic caps are good caps. Most knowledgeable techs would agree that they are the 2nd best available for use in guitar amps behind the German made F&T's.

Allright, thank you bro's.
I am into heavy, groovy, southern rock meets Lynch Mob and ZZ top kind of land. I love how my Laney does it, but I want it clean up the noise a lot. I know for a fact that nothing besides jack & pots jobs were done to it, since like 1985. I LOVE how it sounds now only when I turn it up for a band practice I believe hum and dirt are disproportional to the MV level, not unbearable, but I want it cleaner. So I thought the first step would be a re-cap? So, Sozos and F&T's ?
Original mustard caps are rubbish and i throw them away. They have only achieved some kind of status because they were common and used in a lot of old amps. No idea about SoZo, but why would anyone copy something so average in the first place?
Sorry, i don't build or use anything with a master volume, so i can't comment. MV is an abberation against good tone and has no place in my life. Noises caused by such horror circuitry is the territory and problem of others, but not myself. But i would imagine there would be many more noise-inducing areas in high-gain MV before the filters became suspects.
Any new users of JJs? did anybody compare the effect on tone in comparison to F&Ts? thanks ....
