JOLLY i have a guitar question for you!

I noticed you have alot of epiphone les pauls. BY any chance are any of them standard epiphone les pauls? and if so what pick ups would you suggest to get a good across the board rock tone ( something similiar to that of a gibson LP stock) Would dual 59's do the trick? Or would you suggest me getting an epiphone les paul custom and do the same as it might be better? I'm asking you because you seem to own alot of epiphones and probably have alot of expererience with those guitars. BTW your strange song you posedt was awesome! i love the ending i wish i could play like that!

PS. would you think it would be better for me to save up and buy a gibson studio les paul instead of an epiphone?

I use the Custom/Pearly gate-n combo in my Epi LP Standard, and love it to death. I started out with '59's but just couldn't get enough punch out of em for my taste. I went to straight PG's next, and played those for about a year until about 2 months ago when I decided I needed just a bit more output and punch in the low's of the bridge pup. The Custom did the trick.
I play alot of rock and blues with a tube amp (DRRI), so this combo really works for me.

jolly does have a bunch of pauls, some epi, some gibby and does have a jazz set in at least one but hes got fair variety of pups out there.
i just put a antiquity neck and 9.4 antiquity in the bridge and it sounds killer into my marshall

Five of my Epiphones are Standards and two of them are Classics. The combinations of Duncans I have in my Epiphones right now are Jazz/Jazz, CC/PG, and APH II/APH II. In my Gibsons I have Jazz/Jazz, Duncan Custom/59, PG/PG. I have a 59/59 combination, but it's in a Schecter Tele. I've never had a set of 59's in any of my Les Pauls. Some of my friends have 59's in their Les Pauls and I absolutely love those pickups. My favorite combination is definitely the Jazz/Jazz though. As far as an across the board rock tone that's similar to that of a gibson LP stock, I'd go with either a set of 59's or a set of PG's.....since that's what both of those are basically modeled after. As far as getting an Epiphone or a Studio, that's kind of a tough call. I guess it really depends on your financial situation. I'd probably get an Epiphone, but that's just me. I haven't played any of the new ones so I don't know about them. All of mine are on average 4-6 years old. All of my Epiphones play and sound great.
