Thanks, it was at too good a BIN price to pass up on. I did some more checking on the seller and found out that he just bought this amp back in late January and at that point it was only 6 months old.SoCalSteve said:Nice score Jump! I had that item on my watch list.

I'm still undecided about getting the 50 watt combo (50 because it has a 12" speaker and, of course, adjustable wattage) or the head. But again, I think you got a terrific deal. Congrats!

This is a great buy for the money....
SoCalSteve said:That (1 watt) would probably be my most used setting in this little 3 bedroom house of mine!
You're a wildman John! :burnout:STRATDELUXER97 said:LOL....If I go above the 1 watt setting,I get the "What are you deaf and stupid" look from my wife... :laugh2:

One of his comments made me wonder what the Valvetronix would have sounded like if they'd used an EL-84 instead of the 12AX7?? All I can say is the Vox rig is the best sounding home practice setup I've ever plugged into. Normally, I use it in the 15W setting, since it sounds better to me than the 1W setting. Man, I wish they had a variable wattage selector on the back of every amp! I think tube amp companies should take note of that feature and figure out a way to cut the transformer's power down, so the tubes still get pushed the same.
