Just finished my 18 watter PCB amp

18 watter with S2 transformer set, 2 el84s and 3 12AX7s. I used the diodes/SAG resistor instead of the tube recto. I've always wanted to see if the PCB 18 watter would be quite. It is VERY quite. No AM station either :laugh2: This is a very touch sensitive amp. Very nice Marshall sound. :beerchug: Nice amp for less than 400 bucks.

Cool! I've been looking at a few kits lately, but I haven't heard of these guys before. I'll have to check em out.

I am also very interested int his.
I have wanted to build an amp for some time.
Was this your first build?

THANKS!

Thats a pretty cool amp.

I've always wanted to build something like that myself. How good were the instructions that came with the kit?

Thanks

Did it come with a head enclosure? So, the tube sockets and pots are mounted to the boards. How many wires did you ahve to solder? 10?

S2 out of Dallas makes excellent 18 watt trannies. The funny thing is that a set of S2 trannies probably cost at least 150-200. Money well spent. I'd imagine with S2 trannies, you've got a nice little tone machine there.

One of these days I'm gonna have one of those little 18 Watt Marshalls or a clone. They are just neat amps...about the only ones with EL84s I really like.

Very cool, can ya post some clips?!..please :D

I almost bought one of those Ironsound kits before I ran into my Ceriatone deal. Yes, clips please! :yeah:

Hi Scott:

The head enclosure is 150 bucks. I won the kit on Ebay for 345.00 bucks. I'm going to order the enclosure now that I know the amp is a keeper. As far as wiring there were around 20 wires not counting the transformer lead. Took around 16 hours for me to build and yes ... it is a very quite tone machine
