Just got my JCM 900 Dual Reverb

Reckless Abandon

I really like it so far. I maxed the gain on channel 1 and it reminds me of my 800 before I had it modded. Channel 2 sounds a bit like my modded 800 with a more bite. It will be fun to mess around with and maybe mix when recording.

Re: Just got my JCM 900 Dual Reverb

those amps catch alot of grief for lack of sound quality but a 50W version was my first half stack and it still sounds great. You just have to learn to gete a good balance between the two gain controls!!!

Enjoy it Bro

Sweet, bro. EL34 loaded or 5881's? Have you determined the model year off the serial number?

I like those amps with EL34's. Channel A with the gain cranked up is very AC/DC-ish. Channel B isn't bad on it's own but slam it with a Tubescreamer or Super Overdrive and stand back. ;)

It has EL-34's. I have not checked to see the year it was made but the owner said he has had it around 12 years and he bought it used.

Re: Just got my JCM 900 Dual Reverb

I have the 50W combo. Its a nice amp, but I am looking for a head. Once I get one I am probably going to send it to Voodoo amps. They have a real nice mod they do to them.

Nice. That thing will sound really nice with some JJ tubes. I'd imagine it would sound good with Svetlana tubes as well. When I dumped the Crate Blue Doodoo I had and was amp hunting, I was about to jump on a Dual Reverb. Then a buddy of mine showed me the MkIII and that was it for me.

Re: Just got my JCM 900 Dual Reverb

I am a MKIII lover also. Everyone that has been over to my home has figured out my 2100 is the real deal. Ask Gr8scott/Jeff H/Brisk what they think!!!!!! LOL! I use Sovtek WXT EL34's and Sovtek LPS 12AX7's. I run it through a Marshall 1960AV cab.

I had a Marshall Slash 2555SL at the same time as this amp. The 2100 sounded better!
