You are welcome to try our product and combine or compare it with any others you'd like. I just don't appreciate someone coming on here and slamming my company (or saying another product is better) when they have no experience to gauge from.

What is the problem with people posting about other companies than SD on this forum? We love SD here at KGC! We use their products on many of our guitars and will be building some new guitars soon most likely using some of their stuff. They are not in competition with us in any way...

Have a look at this lists of threads - most of them are not talking about SD products but rather other companies. This is a great forum with educated players - most of whom aren't just looking to start stuff - that is why I come here.

We tested many different types of steel, brass, copper, titanium as well as some other metals and found this particular brass to give the most balanced tone with best sustain - no shrill, ear-piercing highs like many steel alloys - better mid/bass than any of the others we tested. Beyond that - it also sustained longer than any of the other metals.

I will vouch for all of this. And I think it's very f-ing cool of KGC to have enough belief in their product to let us pass them around for a test drive and report our own unbiased opinions.

Good luck getting some other manufacturers to do that.

This is exactly what I found the block to accomplish. I have a strat that seemed shrill most of the time, and was looking at putting in a bridge humbucker, but the KGC block brought the extreme highs under control, and if I get this block as a result of the testing, that guitar is where it will live!

For what it's worth, I'm a huge fan of Rick's products, as he'll attest to.

I've only just come out of hospital after yet more major surgery and finally had time to fit the new block I'd had a few weeks ago to my Wilkinson VS401.

As expected it's a huge improvement and my annoying tuning stability problem has been cured !

Yeah, it is about 1/8" thick all around. Heavy-Duty and really does make a difference in balance, stability as well as giving you a little extra in the tone and sustain departments. This is one of our best-selling items. Many players tend to brush this off as being a silly thing to upgrade, but the reality is that your original claw is made of cheap, bent sheet-metal. Replacing it with this chunk of milled, solid brass gives you a nice upgrade - and something else to show off "under the hood"!

Just received the Floyd block in the mail from Bloodrose. Right now I don't have a chance to install it just yet but, I will post a more thorough review after I do. First though: HOLY ****, this thing is MUCH heavier than it looks! Solid stuff, for sure. Machined very nicely as well. More to come...

SD A2P neck and middle and a CS un-aged texas hot bridge at 9K, cloth wire, orange drop, and everything else is factory.


Initial thoughts:

Much more presence. More string separation.

I do not agree with you - KGC is trying to sell their products on SD forum by what - a comparison of their products? For what purpose, you should be asking yourself!

I will stick with my comment that it is poor taste to use another company’s forum to advertise your products.

BTW - 9fingers, did you purchase a KGC product, or are you just brown-nosing to get a free one?

If SD had a problem with this thread Im sure they would have pulled it. Why are you being so negative - it looks like the guy has stuck by his product enough to let people try them for free, why are you so enraged?
