Mr 9finger
Digitally Challenged
Hey Guys and Gals,
Rick from KGC and I have traded emails and he's up for letting some people here try out his products. We have to keep in mind here that KGC is a small business ran by a couple guys and most of the offerings are made to order, so they can't really ship out a large quantity of blocks.
There's probably only going to be 3 or 4, whatever he decides. My thinking is have a Mexican Strat sized block, a vintage size block, and a oversize Floyd block and whatever else. Maybe an American Standard size block. I'm the odd man out being left handed here, so we'll toss them out to the right handed players for testing. I'd like to get some people involved for each block that's sent out. To make that work, each person is going to have to agree to get the block, try it out for a week or so, write up a review of your impressions on it, and then send it on to the next person so they can do the same.
Obviously we can't have a large number of people for each block. Then it would just take forever and a major pain in the butt for me to keep track of, so I think 5 people per block would be great. To make things easier on Rick, I'm going to have him ship the blocks to me and I'll ship them out to everyone else to get things started. Once everyone has had their turn with block, they'll get sent back to me.
If Rick is on board with letting us keep the blocks, then we'll have some kind of lottery drawing for the people that reviewed the block a chance to win and keep the block they reviewed. That is fairest way I can think of doing things. Ideally, everyone would get a block to keep, but like I mentioned earlier. They are a small new company and don't have the resources to give a bunch of blocks away.
Now that that is all out of the way, I'm going to have to put some stipulations on this. To be eligible to be involved with this, you have to be a member in good standing. Some people are going to cry and say that's not fair, but lets be reasonable here. If you've been a member for awhile and you're an active member, then there's less likely of a chance of you just up and disappearing. That and most of the guys here wouldn't want to tarnish their reputation here over a $70 piece of metal.
I already know someone is going to ask about shipping across the border to the north and across the pond. Normally I don't have a problem shipping out of the country, but due to the nature of review process and the higher possibility of something getting lost or damaged in shipping out of the country, I'm going to have to keep this in the lower U.S.
So.....If you're interested in getting in on this and you meet the criteria, send me a PM and we'll get things started. In the mean time I'll get with Rick and see how he wants to do things and I'll give him a link to this thread.
I'd also like to thank Rick and company at Killer Guitar Components for giving us this opportunity!
