So I'm putting 3 different single coil pickups in my Stratocaster, I've decided... and I've been looking around for pickups for quite a few days (non-stop!) now. I've basically weeded it down to the Kinman 69's vs. Antiquitys vs. Lace Sensor Silvers.
While I know the first two are very expensive, they seem to be worth the money (the Kinmans sounded FANTASTIC). I have no experience with Lace Sensors and can't find any soundclips of them online, but I'm somewhat interested in them.
When aiming for a Gilmour/Blackmore/Hendrixy tone, can anything beat what I have listed, for a more reasonable price?
Either way I'm really put off by the price of pickups like Kinmans, regardless of the sound ... I think maybe I should just do something really strange (like an angled humbucker in the bridge, a single coil in the middle, a P90 in the neck and a boatload of switches) instead sometimes. :smack:
