Here are the only photos I have of the Kramer American Liberty I posted about in the "Is Eddie Van Halen lining his pockets" thread. Bloodrose asked about it so I scanned the photos just now to post them. This guitar played like butter, was the most solid guitar I ever picked up and it was a neck thru design. It had EMG active pickups, though I don't know which ones. I had black Kramer Baretta which I paid around $250 for that I bought in 86 or 87 used that I traded for this guitar not too long after. I didn't like the way the Baretta played (knew nothing about setups and had a tech just about ruin an Ibanez doubleneck so I didn't trust them.) so I put it up for sale. Some guy calls me and says he has this guitar and would trade me straight up, so I checked it out and I did.
I loved the diamond inlays and it even had a master volume! Around 1990 or 1991 I worked with a guy who saw a photo of it and offered me a Marshall "stack" for it. It was a 73 50 watt breadboard head with the original slant cabinet which had been recovered in orange tuck and roll material, and a Sound City bottom cab. I took the trade. I later gave the Sound City to my neighbor because he needed a cab (I'm a nice man, huh?) and sold the half stack for...$500 in 1992 to buy my first house, along with the afformentioned doubleneck. As you can see in the photos, I was a musclecar and Led Zeppelin fan; still am. That long purple thing in two of the pics is a camshaft for a 440 engine, and the metal thing in the case next to it is a pistol grip shifter, although you can't see the shifter, lol. Anyway, here are the pics of the big fish that I let get away.
