Kramer guitars?

Hey guys, anyone know if the American-made Kramer guitars from the 80's are any good? I've been looking for a body to do a Floyd Rose shredder project, and I'm wondering if someone can recommend a particular model to look at. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Kramer guitars?

Are you looking for just one bridge humbucker or multiple pups?
Alder body or other?

Pickup configuration isn't a big deal, I can route the body for humbuckers if need be. I'm looking for something that's routed for a Floyd, and the type of wood isn't a huge deal, as long as it's something decent, like alder or mahogany rather than agathis or plywood. I don't want anything with a pickguard, it needs to be rear-routed. There are a ton of Kramer bodies on Ebay, I thought maybe one of them would be a good candidate for a shredder project, but I'm not familiar with these at all. Thanks.

Actually the American Kramers where made by ESP;)
yes from 85 on they were.
I own a 1986 pacer imperial and it is my favorite guitar, they come stock with a JB/jazz,OFR and top quality pots/switches.
in the day they were the bomb everone and ther mother played one from EVH to
sambora to mars to lynch and hundreds more endorsed them
:)
obviously as usual EVH put them on the shredders map before him they were not too known:burnout:
