Were you going to do the other mods?
The big thing is just to discharge the filter caps, I just stick a screwdriver across the postitive tabs to ground, not the most recommended way, but it works, just don't hold the metal on the screwdriver. Mine doesn't seem to hold a lot of charge, but I do it everytime just to be sure.
