Led Zeppelin

Re: Led Zeppelin

Well for me there is too much to say to all of this. All I will say is that anyone who knows Zep very well at all knows how the band responded to Bonzo's death. They were devistated and took the stance all or nothing. There was no replacing Bonzo in their eyes and without him there was no Led Zeppelin. I saw Page and Plant during the Walking to Clarksdale tour in 98 or 99 (cant remember exactly) and Page could still get it on though I wont argue that he was as good as 68-77.

Second I will add that his solo on Achiles Last Stand from Presence makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Also I might add that every time you read an interview with Pagey that discusses the Live Aid concert he gets really upset because he was handed an out of tune guitar and sounded like crap. They hated that performance so bad that he and Plant wouldn't let it be released on the recent DVD.

I have always loved Zeppelin and in my early years of playing I idolized Page and wouldn't even acknowledge that anyone but him could play a guitar. I have since cooled down and found numerous players that I think could embarrass Page as far as talent goes, but I will always love him and the band.

Lastly as much as I love Pagey why does he have to be so arrogant and snoody about what he has done in life and guitar? Every interview I have ever read with him is all about him and what he masterminded. Maybe I'm just used to humble folks, but he is arrogant.

HAHA I just noticed after posting this that in my avatar I am sporting my LZ t shirt!!! :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

Re: Led Zeppelin

No reunion please. As much as I love Zep I think they would be a dissapointment. Just watching the Led Zeppelin DVD you can see a change in Page's playing from the earlier days. His peformance at the Royal Albert Hall on that disc is just awesome to me. But then downhill after that. And as for Plant, when I put in the No Quarter CD for the first time I did a double take because his voice has changed so much. Let us remember Zep as they were, one of the best bands ever!
