For what it's worth, I think Maple NECK with rosewood board LP's are the Cat's meow!

The rosewood is warm, the maple is bright. rose is soft, Maple hard. The maple is usually three pieces - strong as a mofo! Also, based on my experience, the size of the necks in maple is more than the thin, but slightly less than the baseball bat. Ahhhhhh.

Feels good. Sounds good. Is good.

I played one of the maple neck L6S models for a very short time---with the Varitone and the triple ceramic Super Humbuckers...ummm, very brittle and crunchy, no thanks.
