Let me introduce you to my guitars and help me pick my next.

So I have one acoustic and two electrics. My epiphone is 20 years old and he only thing original parts are the wood and frets. Has 57s and over its lifetime everything has been upgraded. I love the neck on this thing and for me it's the perfect les Paul sound and feel.

The strat is a classic vibe neck vintage modified body with gfs bridge. The pickups are Fender noiseless with blender mod. The neck again is perfect for me.

Now I want a third electric but I want it to be a short scale but weigh less than the lp. Single coils would be fine but not another strat sound more of a tele sound. Humbuckers would be fine but not a solid body maybe a semi hollow. P90s?

Pretty much looking for a guitar that sounds much different than these two. The weight and short scale is so when my kids want to play them they can be more comfortable for them. Budget around 500ish?? I prefer traditional colors.

What do you guys think?

Have you checked out Epiphone 339's? There's a version with P-90's. Or a Casino?

Been meaning to check out the 339s. That Nomad looks to weird. The jaguar too many switches and the jazzmaster is regular scale. Might look at a mustang too. Thanks for suggestions so far.

Would have recommended a Brian May, but if a Jaguar has too many switches then the BM is definitely out.

Nice dude! I'd say a Telecaster or a Shred Stick of some kind (Charvel or Ibanez would get my vote for that) :)

Cool thanks for the suggestions. The cabronita sounds interesting and I see them pop up for sale often. By shortscale I am talking like Gibson 24.75 or shorter. Doesn't have to be 18" :-p

I also +1 the Tele.. No collection is complete without a good Tele especially if you play country,,

Yeah I need to revisit the Tele again. I have had some in the past but to me not that comfy and they don't sound that great in my hands :17:

You might think about a singlecut semihollow. Gretsch? Or an Epi Wildkat with P90s.

Another option would be the PRS Starla, or a Gretsch CVT. Both clearer sounding than an LP (and lighter on the shoulder) but fatter than a Strat.

For traditional colors, I'm thinking natural, or black, or a nice dark transparent red.

i think a casino would be a great third axe. short scale, hollow, p90s

I mostly play reggae, country, rock and rarely anything heavy.
Easiest Thread ever.

Perhaps a Squier 51 is up yer alley? Short scale, coil tapped humbucker, tele neck and easy on the wallet.
