Lets See Those Charvels - Old and Young

Let's see those Charvels! Doesn't matter the year, lets just see what you got!

Current one I have is an '86 Charvel Model 3A. It is really special to me because my dad was the original owner and gave it to me on my 26th birthday–it is almost like new and 100% stock (minus the strings. lol) Really rocks and has an awesome tone.

Have any that have departed from your fold and you wish you could get back? I sure do! Wish I still have this partscaster–80's body with a rugged oil refinish and a modern Fender-era neck. I had it loaded with SDs JB+2 Hotrails...wish I could get this guitar back!

This is my around-the-house beater and one of my primary writing / demo recording guitars. I acquired the Model 4 in 2003 or 2004 and picked up a Model 2 in 2005 for $79 or something insanely cheap like that. Swapped necks, removed the string clamp for Sperzels, and also gutted the active electronics in favor of Cool Rails(n) and 59(b) with a 500K volume & 3-way toggle. Over the years it's played host to the '59, Custom 5 (in the pic), Invader, and currently a Custom. I'm planning to do some mag-swapping in the (hopefully)-near future and will be trying a CC, C8, & CUOA5. It stays in tune really well except for the g-string, so first I'm going to try a TUSQ-XL nut. If that doesn't work, I'll swap necks with the Model 1A and install a Floyd nut.

I bought this in the Summer of 2013 for $150 without electronics and installed SSL-2 / SSL-2 / SSL-6T wired 50s style with a Fralin blender.

One that has to keep the lights on in his house and food in little bellies.. Trust me, if it was for family neccesity, it wouldnt have gone anywhere. Same with my 4s.. :(

Yeah that sucks man, anyway you still have a heap of nice gear.

Yeah, twas hard to get rid of all of them... But the 5 was most diff cuz they arent very easy to find and this one was pretty pristine..

'87 or '88 Charvel Model 3 with SD DDJ in bridge:
