lets see those super strats!!

Re: lets see those super strats!!

I think every guy who likes that era of guitars should have at least one guitfiddle with a huge floyd and a humbucker bridge. They really are great fun to play.

Nah, none of the BKPs are based specifically on any tone as far as I know.

I think Tim (of BKP) winds the pickups and then names them to what sorta 'vibe' it gives him, or something like that :D

Re: lets see those super strats!!

SWEET JEEEZIS that's mind-numbingly awesome! how many are superstrats from the get go and how many are partscasters!

:fest6:

  • Squire Afinity Strat with aftermarket pickguard, no pickups, unknown wood.
  • Westone 65th anniversary, locking trem, Duncan Distortion, Duckbucker, Little 59, Poplar body.
  • Aria Pro II Fullerton, Livewire Hot, Livewire classics, alder body.
  • Lefty 96 MIM strat, 86 CIJ neck, modified OEM pickguard, Dimarzio Megadrive, SSL-5's, unkown body wood although I suspect Poplar.

Re: lets see those super strats!!

I was contemplating whether I should post mine, if nothing else because of the sheer size of the images.
My pride got the better of me :D

Sooo, from left to right (or top to bottom, depends on your screen and/or resolution) they are:
  • My 2000 MiM Strat (once a typical SSS Standard). Crazy 8, StraBro90s, a Wilky VSV400 trem and Sperzel trim-Loks
  • My 2006 Swing EZ-10, currently the only non-wooden parts still stock literally are the frets and strap buttons
  • My 1994 Grover Jackson era Chicago Custom Shop Washburn MG-122. bare stock and that's the way I LOVE her!!!

From the three the Strat is the one with the loudest/fullest acoustic tone, the Swing is my very best player (and the baddest/sweetest sounding of the three) and the Washburn is the best all-arounder and the one I am most "at home" with.

I LOVE all three of them and can never see me parting with any of them.

Re: lets see those super strats!!

You guys just had to bring the topic up! Rockin' guitars that I don't have enough hair to look good playing anymore! :34:

Nice Kramers on page 1! My Stagemaster, with Full Shred and Ultrasonic Ref 2.

I like that Carvin collection too! This is my koa DC-127 with Ultrasonic REf 5's. I have a Dimarzio D Activator neck at the bridge now.

A candy apple red 1990 Hamer Californian with a PATB-1.
calicandy.jpg

A '92 Robin Medley with Duncan Hot Stacks. I think at the time of this photo, I had a JB at the bridge. It has a PATB-3 there now.

An '87 Hamer Chapparal in pearl yellow, with 2 Duckbuckers and a Screamin Demon. I think it had a Custom Custom at the time of this photo. This guitar has a 24 3/4" scale and set neck, so it is a superstrat or a superLester?

A later model Chapparal with a 25 1/2 scale and bolt on neck. PATB1 bridge and neck and a PATB Stk in the middle.

Re: lets see those super strats!!

Most of mine don't have Floyds, but I'm posting them anyway! :D

I just realized I don't have a picture of this one by itself:

Where did you manage to find the ultrasonics? They're pretty hard to find.
