All these threads about les paul and that one about showing your les paul made me want to start my own but this time its.... Fat Strats! And im talking about Stratocaster with a 'bucker.. not no soloist or lookalikes.. lets see who owns some real fat strats and how they look. :bigok:

This is mine... originaly a S-S-S Player Strat i had convereted back and forth to fat and single many times.. it has gone trough dozens of physical/cosmetic/tonal changes but its my #1 axe and my favorite of all time.. perhaps cuz it was my first axe

2004 Fender AM DLX FMT Fat Strat. Rest assured, she spends very little time in that case. ;)

As you can see I prefer buckers in the bridge of my strats!

Re: Lets see your Fat Strat!

Kamanda, how old is that MIM Strat? The maple neck has aged really nicely there!

Metlking, which one of those bad boys is your favourite?

Re: Lets see your Fat Strat!

Get me out of this thread fast. I'm developing serious G.A.S. for a Fat Strat...

Re: Lets see your Fat Strat!

Here's mine:
strat1.jpg

'03 MIM Midnight Wine (it's darker than the picture shows)
SSL 1 (n)
SSL 5 (m)
Duncan Distortion (b), w/ push-pull switching for series/parallel
Neck and middle share a tone control, with the other tone controlling the bridge humbucker (I wouldn't use it w/o being able to roll off a little treble.)

I thought I wanted to sell it a while back - I mostly play my Teles, but every time I get it out and play it I am impressed by how nicely it plays and how many different, great sounds I can get from it (aside from my mediocre playing.)

Re: Lets see your Fat Strat!

Are some of those Lone Star Strats?

Only two came from the Fender factory as "Lonestars" The chrome red (I changed the pickguard) and the shoreline gold. The rest are "converted" into Lonestar/Fat strats by me.......though I usually prefer a JB bridge as opposed to the Pearly Gates Plus they come with. Call 'em what you like!
