Re: Lew's first clip post!!!
Thanks Guys! I was a little nervous about posting my playing what with so many great players here on the forum and all.
Ryan: HUGE THANKS! I'm so ignorant when it comes to MP3 stuff there's no way I could have got this up without you.
So this is a new song my friend and songwriting partner Sherrie Scott and I wrote for our CD. We recorded it at our buddy Charlie Davis' home studio.
That's my brother Bruce Collins on drums, Micheal Willis on P-Bass, Sherrie Scott (
http://www.sherriescott.com ) on vocals and me on guitar.
The four of us did the basic rhythm track live...no overdubs.
Then I went in a few days later and overdubbed the lead guitar. I did a few takes but what you hear was done in one pass and it wasn't pieced together from a bunch of takes or anything. It's pretty much what I sound like live I guess.
I used my homebrew '57 style Strat with Antiquity Surfers and played the lead guitar stuff through my '66 blackface Deluxe Reverb amp. I did the rhythm track with my '59 Fender tweed Princeton amp.
No overdrive pedal...just a guitar and a George L cord, although I did use a Line 6 Verbzilla for the reverb on the rhythm track, as my old tweed Princeton has no reverb built into it.
My Deluxe Reverb does have built in reverb so I used a little and turned the amp up to about 5 for the solo and fills.
Many Thanks...especially to you Ryan!
Lew
