I want to know if anybody used this amp for small gigs.Does it respond like a valve amp? Is it loud? Do vintage tones sound convincing? Or is it a line 6 modeler with tubes like the vox valvetronix line.Feedback appreciated.

It is a true tube amplifier. I have sat down with one before. It seemed a lot more cleaner than what I wanted, but I think that's because it's basically designed as a platform for the Line 6 Pod and Helix to act as simply footswitches and effects units for people still wanting a tube amp. The big feature is the L6 link which allows you to daisy chain up to four amps for wet/dry/wet stuff. It does it completely on it's own. No need to do any setup yourself. It's all plug and play.

I honestly think it's my favorite product made by Line 6 for tone, ease of use, and lack of scrolling through digital parameters. That amp, and the green and blue pedals and rack units are some of their best products IMO.

I was pretty impressed by the DT series amps. Now that they're on the used market and depreciating like L6 products do, they'll prove to be good bargains on good sounding amps.

Is it loud enough like a valve amp?

Re: Line 6 DT 25, any good?

Oh yeah, they're plenty loud, and they dont have the sterile tone their modelers have.
I also kind of like the Bogner Spyder II amps, but don't like their scrolling way of changing channels. The DT seems more like an all tube amp with knobs and switches.

You can't knock the blue grill Vox's either. They're great amps. I'm not spamming, but I'm selling a blue grill Vox AD60VTH head for only $300 if anyone's interested. I'd keep it, but need money at the moment.

How about external pedals? I have a pedal board that I want to use. Will it work just like a regular amp in those kind of situations or will get all digital on me?

I sold mine but yes it sounded really good.

I found it impractical for gigging with unfortunately so I didn't hang on to it.

I have a DT25 and it is a good time/valve amplifier. It takes pedals very well, either through the front or in the effects loop. Check out Sean Haley's and Paul Glover's YT videos to get a feel for how it sounds and functions.

Any particular reason for finding it impractical, volume level, build quality etc. I'm very interested in knowingbecause gigging was I was thinking of with this amp.

Re: Line 6 DT 25, any good?

Had one for about three years, a combo and the extension cab. Awesome amp, especially when used woth a POD HD 500. Clean voicings takes pedal well.

Combo was a bit heavy, so I replaced it with a Hughes&Kettner Grandmeister 40 Deluxe, but I kept the extension cab...

Plug and play wet/dry/wet? That's interesting. Now I want 3 of them to play around with. Lol

I found using it with the HD500 (which is the only way to full use the amps features) to be a pain in the ass to be honest.
