Re: Line6 TonePort vs. M-Audio BlackBox vs. ?
The problem is, I haven't tried the M-Audio. However, I DO own a TonePort, and I am loving it. It's incredibly versatile--of course, it takes a while to tweak the "perfect" tones, but that's half the fun and I honestly do feel almost limitless in my tonal possibilities. The cleans, the crunch, the heavy gains, the pedals, and the FX are all usable and of good to high quality. The presets sometimes might sound bad, but usually, if you just try recording with them and mess with panning a little bit, they actually turn out pretty good.
I really think they made my recordings sound at least 10x better.
I hope that helps somehow. I'm sure the other TonePort guys on this forum will chime in, and maybe we even have somebody on here who owns a BlackBox, or has at least tried it out.
