Re: List for me a bunch of custom guitar builders
Yeah I love the tabor as well, but I beleive that it and the Phil Keggy model are both custom now- But would be worth dropping them a note to confirm and most of what I have seen recently is custom anyway-
They moved from greensboro here to Raleigh and I finally got to the factory about a month ago- They have never been very big, but they are ramping up quite a bit becuase they have gone back to primarily a dealer model-
But the quality is unbleivable- Stacks of wood, neck blanks and first coats of paint just sitting there- Makes you want to move in, or sweep floors, or anything-
They have always evolved in what I see as the 'right' direction- Ken Hoover was thinking out of the box and got the rep of the only one who could set up a floyd in NC in the early 80s

I called him in the mid 90s and described the strat sound I was lookign for, he told me to come visit in 2 weeks and he had 3 different strats in the racks that were variations of the same theme, and the swamp ash joe barden with 3 coil spin a split was exaclty what I needed and still my favorite axe of all time-
I don't take it out anymore, but always loved the look on kids who would come up and ask how I was getting that sound and what in the world is a ZION
