little dawg amps

anyone know of this builder? prices seem very reasonable. I like the idea of his 12 watt champster (uses a 6L6)

Re: little dawg amps

well I didn't get any feedback here but I ordered a champster from Jim at Little Dawg Amps and I recieved it yesterday. I plugged it in without actually installing it in the cab and all I can say is WOW! It sounded better than the 1959 Champ it will be replacing. It is the perfect sound for me. Just outstanding! I plugged a 6V6 and a KT66 in there while I was trying it out and they were just amazing sounds also. The 6V6 has more grind but still a nice shimmering sound when clean and the new KT66 (looks more like a 6L6 in a different bottle) fattened it up a touch. I settled on the 6L6 for now though as it gave me nice headroom and still the deep bluesy overdrive I was looking for. You really can't go wrong with this little 12 watt amp, and as for service Jim exceeded my expectations and had the amp to me in record time. I will add more to this as some time goes by and I get the amp in the cab.

Re: little dawg amps

I hit a snag at the time I was going to order one and did not have the cash so ended up going another route as I did not have the time for the wait. When I was checking things out at the time though there was nothing but positive feedback on them anyplace. I have never heard otherwise.

Re: little dawg amps

well I will just add to it all, I have nothing but good things to say about Jim and his amps. It is just phenominal. the more I play it the better it sounds.

Re: little dawg amps

sounds like it would be a great amp for your tele ... the more I play teles, the more I like 'em with tweed type amps

Re: little dawg amps

oh man it is a great amp for the tele. the bluesbird isn't bad either but the teles are where is shines. I will be interested to see how my gauge single cut with p90s will sound.
