loaded pickguard question

i want a loaded pickguard with cool rails in neck and middle and little 59er in bridge. I actually have all these pu's. If i sent my pickguard in with only the pu's, would SD complete it for me (including 5 way sw, and pots=VTT)??
I have been trying to get it all right, so far not much success....

or even just wire all of it without pickguard. if SD doesnt, do any of you do this work?

No, but what you can do is send it to a luthier and they will do it for a price. But if you really don't want to spend money on it, you probably have a friend who knows how to solder properly, they are actually more common than you might think.

right, sd wouldnt do that for you and if they did they would charge and arm and a leg. find a local tech who can do this

thanks. I have wired guitars, etc for years, don't have soldering problems so much (other than being slow lol) but finding the grounding problem on this has been a real problem. Will keep trying. Tomorrow I am replacing the entire grounding setup, see if it helps. This guitar had no hum at all until about 6 wks ago, and it just started. I replaced the hotrails in the bridge with a little 59er, thinking while i was in there I would chase down the hum problem. Thanks you guys.

Try including the 5 way switch, and any other switches, in your ground circuit. That's always helped minimize noise for me.

Honestly I have no idea if they do this, as I've never asked. You might try to contact them to see- their contact info is on the bottom of the home page. Calling is better, btw. If you do happen to get an answer, come back and let us know. It isn't especially hard to do, so someone local should be able to do it- but you won't know unless you ask.

i gotta echo what others have said here already. dont waste your money having SD do it (which they likely wouldn't do without charging a premium) when you could get a local tech to do it for less.

thanks you guys. Even when as an experiment i connected one pickup (and tried two diffetrent pu's) direct (no pots or switch) and ground it to bridge and trem claw, there still buzz slightly louder than a typical SC noise floor. I've done a lot of guitar wiring over the years, and wow i am kinda stumped here...

With the guitar open like that, it can often be noisy because all the wires are exposed to pick up noise. Try shielding it and grounding everything and closing it up.
