Lockit Guitar straps

Re: Lockit Guitar straps

No way.

I have my favorite straps that I like to use on several guitars. I use Fender strap locks on all my guitars and straps and can easily use my favorite straps on any guitar that I feel like playing.

Re: Lockit Guitar straps

While technically true, the idea is to EASILY and READILY be able to take the strap on and off.

Seems cool but I'm not sure how long that piece of plastic could handle abuse.

Pretty happy here with the Schallers although they might be on the expensive side, don't have them on too many guitars thought...

Re: Lockit Guitar straps

They ARE easy to take on and off. I found some that have a hole with a diameter about 2 ml smaller than the strap button. A little twist to get them on and they aren't going anywhere. Same little twist to get them off. They are made of tough rubber. I've tried tearing them up and it's impossible.

Re: Lockit Guitar straps

I'd like to see the guy spinning his guitar with it try it with a 59 burst.

Was there a problem with straps staying on before?

Re: Lockit Guitar straps

A couple of years back I went from 25 years of playing a very light SG to using a much heavier Firebird Studio. It has slipped the strap a few times but I've never dropped it. I tried those plastic Dunlop locks which were very cheap and totally useless. I don't know why they bother making them. I then got a Planet Waves locking strap which worked but again it was cheap and the mechanism fell apart in less than two months. I didn't want to go down the metal strap locks route so I've been looking at other options. The washers work fine. Very secure although I'm not prone to swinging my guitar around my head.

I'm happy with the metal straplocks from Dunlop and Schaller.

I am with most of my guitars but recently got a couple guitars with the strap button on the back of the guitar. Having a strap lock poking you somewhere between your ribs and crotch is much less fun than having a groupie do it.

Re: Lockit Guitar straps

The Ernie ball ones are nice! But I really I have a problem with schaller ones I like the way the button looks but when I'm sitting and have the strap on it diggs into my thigh I hate that!! Dunlop ones do the same.. Maybe I will try the washer thing sounds solid
