I've gigged with the MG series and haven't had any reliability issues.. and btw hiss, hum, and feedback come with most amps when played loud.. a Boss NS-2 is a staple of any pedalboard.. as far as the tone, the scooped tone is a bit buzzy and not very clear and the mid tones are a bit too brash.. the MG cab is great though for the price, very tight bottom end and won't flab out with the MG100dfx cranked to 10.. but shoot for a used AVT50 and you'll be in the same price range.. the clean is less stale and the distortion is much more articulate
