Hi all~~ does anyone make a totally straight bar whammy, without the bend that keeps it out if hands reach?
Thanks

This reminds me of Uli Jon Roth's whammy bar...it is straight as straight can be!:)

Re: Looking for STRAIGHT whammy bar~~

Hey all~~ it's hard to imagine, but I'm striking out at finding a Straight whammy bar, let alone one straight & in black. I don't have tools to attempt what others have suggested....thread & bend!! My daughter's hands are small & the bend in contemporary bars is out of her reach. With a vise, how hard is it to really bend one of these suckers? Luckily, I won't let my perfectionist Virgo ways get in the way, so 'as straight as possible' will have to do.
Thnx

I don't know what metal is used in the making of whammy bars, but I wager most of them are crap.
If you bend it in a vise you are going to lose paint for sure and possibly snap it. If you bend it, go nice and slow, you don't want to accelerate the metal to fast. Let it rest a little between tightening and lay some heat to it.

What kind of whammy? Push in or screw in? It should be possible to fabricate one that exactly matches what you're looking for either way, but you'll have to go about it differently.
