Los Angeles Amp Show. Who's Going? Pics!

Just a reminder that Loni Spector's 4th Annual Amp Show is this weekend, Oct 4th and 5th near the Van Nuys Airport in the Valley.

I'll be there Saturday, and it'd be cool to see a few forum members show up, and at least meet. Last year, Curly, Olin, and I were there.

It's $20, but you'll get to walk around a big hotel with an amp company in each room......the only place you'll get to see and hear dozens of top brands and boutiques all in the same building.

If you're going, say so in this thread, or shoot me a PM, so a few of us can get a drink and/or check out some amps.

Don't worry. You guys won't miss anything. Last year, I went room to room snapping pictures, and made a big thread about it.

This year, I'll do it methodically. First, I'll have fun playing some stuff and soaking it all in. Then, I'll go room to room with my camera and photograph the entire thing. On Sunday, I'll post a thread, with pictures of every room.

It'll be like you guys didn't even miss it......and saved $20 plus airfare and hotel accomodations! :fingersx:

the $20 bucks to get in sounds reasonable...but i think the airfare would kill the deal for me...

that would be cool. last time i was traveling and not able to go even though a friend of mine wanted me to be the guy in his room/booth. missed opportunity for sure but once i make a commitment, i stick with it

Gearjoneser or others attending...a favor, if at all possible...

It looks like Reeves was there last time. If they are there again, could you report on the Custom 50 with power scaling (this is a Hiwatt DR504-style amp, but with power scaling). I'd like to know how the power scaled version sounds versus the normal version. The Custom 50 is a LOUD and CLEAN amp...I'd like to know if the power scaling gets it into the sweet spot without peeling paint off the walls!

If you don't have time, that's cool.

I had planned on showing up Saturday, but there's no way I'm missing Carl Verheyen, the sickest player on earth, and Marc Ford from The Black Crowes.

I've been intrigued by those Red Iron Amps since the first time I saw them, but haven't really listened to them, so I'll have to make a point of doing that this time.

Reeves is on the list, so we'll try to check that out. I have to mention that sometimes some rooms are so full you have to wait to get in or come back later, but we'll see what we can do

good call ... I thought that was pretty awesome when I saw they were playing, so I'm glad you called an audible.

as usual for me, 65 Amps will be right at the top of my list of 'must see' amps.
