Madison Amps

Re: Madison Amps

I briefly considered them in '05 when I was looking for my first real amp. Too one-dimensional for me at the time. (I ended up with a Road King ;))

Re: Madison Amps

A few years ago I was doing session work up at a studio outside of Boston and the Madison crew had just sent a head & cab over... I forget which ones... tube head and a straight 4x12. Not the most amazing amp ever but highly serviceable. I remember using the cab... we thought it sounded better then the studios battered 4x12 w/Webers. At least for the industrial/metal music I was playing on... we used my 800 though that cab for the bulk of those 5 songs. I vaguely recall the head being "recto-ish" in nature. Stuff was fresh out of the box too. Its nice to plug things in and find usable tones straight away.

S-s-s-olid state?!! *faints* :)

They have both SS and tube from what I was looking at. The main guitarist in the band wouldn't have anything to do with SS.

They are being treated really well. The 2 guitarists and bass player each get the basic rig they want for free. If they want additional gear or any special options they get them for ridiculously deep discount, basically factory cost.

It's a pretty good deal for a band about to release their first CD, I think anyway. I have had a lot of notoriety over the years and never got squat, never really asked for anything either though. These guys are sort of a speed metal ala Dragonforce but much darker sounding, big time into King Diamond type of stuff. In fact they work with the guys from the King Diamond band.

Re: Madison Amps

Yeah it is. That's why I am giving the company a little free notoriety, they are really hooking up a good group of guys in a big way.
