Didn't say it wasn't good enough... Just looking for input from real guitar players not endorsees
I'm just curious as to why Marshall has become so revered and popular I want to know whaat guitar players truly think of Marshall amps.
IMO Marshall peaked with the 1959 Super Lead, and have been gradually going downhill since then.
That said, if the only amps they ever made were the JTM45 and the 1959, the brand would still be worthy of its legendary status. The tone from the early Marshalls (and their reissues) is heavenly.
My JMP 2204 from 1980 is the best thing in the world. So yes, totally worthy.
Back in the day thats all you had. fender or Marshall. So When you have guys like Betts , Allman, Hendrix, Gibbons, Van halen, Angus Young using them , they were bound to become lengendary.
Even amoung the legions of amps made today , they are still very valid , becuase thats what the other amps are trying to base their tones on.
