Decent amps,. not amazing IMO but good...they had a bad habit of catching fire and IMO $680 is way too much...
I have the 2x12 combo, the 622. It doesn't have as much cut as what Marshall's are known for. It is a bit smoothed out. Great cleans.
The amp isn't a high-gainer, more of classic rocker, but of course it can be boosted. Mine really comes alive when a Boss GE-7 is added.
Many on the internet find the amp as not the most reliable model, but I have had no problems and have owned mine for about 5 years. I did add a fan blowing across the tubes. The tubes are kind of oddly placed laying horizontally out the back of the chassis. I would recommend either adding a fan to one or some type of top venting like the 600 series that replaced it because of the design.
I think its a gem as long as you find one that is reliable.

Gary Moore used one (IIRC on the Still Got The Blues album), so you should get something like that. Get some pedals to boost it for more gainier sounds and you can play blues, rock, and even metal with it.
I can get a 3x10' combo JTM60 for $450.00 (MINT, but used off course)
How do they sound ?
I mean, is the gain channel anything to write home about ?
How does it compare to other Marshall gain channels ?
Thanx
James
IMO - pay no more than $300 for one in good working condition.
^ Things are only worth what you're willing to pay for them bro.
Man! If Id gotten these responses 2 years ago when I started the thread, I may have bought it... I missed the boat...
